I heard the words from my daughter’s mouth that I was told I would never hear.
“My children have been clients of Word Play for over eight years. As a parent, it is imperative that you choose people to work with your children who believe in your child, take your concerns seriously, and invest a part of themselves in your child.

Wordplay created a safe, supportive space where she feels comfortable exploring new foods at her own pace.
Wordplay has made a huge difference for my daughter, especially in expanding her food repertoire through feeding therapy. The team met her exactly where she was, eating only about 4–5 foods daily and built from there with patience and intention. They focus on trust, creating a no-pressure environment, and modeling which has made all the difference. They also think outside the box in the best ways. From using mirrors/cameras so she can see herself chew, to bringing special puppets to help her understand what “swallow” means. The team even helped us develop a way to communicate that she didn’t like something without any pressure with the use of our beloved “bye-bye bin.”
We’ve seen real growth, not just in the variety of foods she’s willing to try, but in her confidence and willingness to engage in the process. They celebrate every step forward, no matter how small, and truly understand that progress looks different for every child. Most importantly, this has had a meaningful impact on her overall health.
